Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than ten are of their printed number and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they strictly appear as the two hands to be dealt).

2 hands of two cards shall then be played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for every hand is the total of the two cards, but the first digit is removed. For eg, a hand of 7 … 5 produces a tally of two (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card might be given depending on the foll. guidelines:

- If the player or banker has a value of eight or 9, each gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart might be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores is the winner. Successful wagers on the banker pay 19 to 20 (even odds less a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure you have money remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie usually pays eight to 1 but on occasion 9 to one. (This is a bad bet as ties happen lower than 1 every 10 hands. Run away from placing bets on a tie. Still, odds are somewhat better – nine to 1 versus eight to 1)

When played accurately, baccarat provides fairly decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. One of which is quite similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is surely not an indicator of future outcomes. Keeping track of old results on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and probably most successful technique is the 1-three-two-6 method. This process is deployed to boost winnings and cutting back risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away four so you have two on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a total of six on the fourth gamble.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means that you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
