Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards that are valued less than ten are said to be worth face value meanwhile ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they purely symbolize the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards will then be dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for any hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of seven and five gives a tally of 2 (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card could be played depending on the following codes:

- If the gambler or banker has a tally of eight or nine, both bettors stand.

- If the player has five or less, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart is used in order to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores is the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker pay at nineteen to twenty (even odds minus a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so make sure that you have dollars still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pays out at eight to 1 but on occasion 9 to one. (This is a bad bet as ties will happen lower than one every ten hands. Definitely don’t try putting money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are somewhat better – nine to one versus eight to 1)

When done accurately, baccarat offers pretty good odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with all games, Baccarat has some common myths. 1 of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is not an actual indicator of future happenings. Tracking of past results on a chart is a waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and probably most successful strategy is the 1-3-2-6 concept. This technique is used to accentuate payout and cutting back risk.

Begin by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the 4th bet.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Accomplishing a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
