Punto Banco Rules
Punto banco is played with 8 decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards below 10 are worth face value and with Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these aren’t really people; they simply represent the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards are then dealt to the ‘bank’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, although the 1st digit is discarded. For instance, a hand of five and 6 has a value of one (five plus 6 = eleven; dump the initial ‘one’).
A 3rd card could be dealt based on the following rules:
- If the player or banker achieves a score of eight or 9, the two players stay.
- If the player has five or less, he takes a card. Players otherwise stay.
- If the player stays, the house hits on five or less. If the gambler takes a card, a guide is employed to see if the banker stands or takes a card.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the two hands wins. Winning bets on the bank pay out 19:20 (even money minus a 5 percent commission. The Rake is tracked and cleared out once you leave the table so ensure you still have money remaining just before you depart). Winning wagers on the gambler pays one to one. Winning wagers for tie typically pays out at 8:1 but sometimes nine to one. (This is a awful bet as a tie occurs lower than one in every ten rounds. Be cautious of gambling on a tie. Although odds are substantially better for nine to one versus 8:1)

Baccarat Course of Action
