Baccarat is played with eight decks in a dealing shoe. Cards below ten are valued at face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these aren’t actual people; they simply represent the 2 hands that are dealt).
Two cards are dealt to both the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand is the sum of the 2 cards, but the first digit is discarded. For instance, a hand of five and 6 has a score of 1 (5 plus six = 11; ignore the first ‘one’).
A third card could be given depending on the following rules:
- If the gambler or bank gets a value of eight or 9, the two players stay.
- If the gambler has less than five, he takes a card. Players stands otherwise.
- If the gambler stands, the house hits on five or less. If the gambler hits, a guide is used to see if the house holds or takes a card.
Punto Banco Odds
The larger of the two scores wins. Winning bets on the bank pay out 19:20 (equal cash less a 5% commission. Commission are tracked and cleared out once you depart the table so be sure to have money remaining just before you head out). Winning bets on the player pays 1 to 1. Winning bets for a tie frequently pay eight to one but occasionally 9:1. (This is a bad bet as ties occur lower than one in every 10 rounds. Avoid wagering on a tie. However odds are substantially greater for nine to one versus 8 to 1)
Gambled on properly baccarat gives relatively good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Punto Banco Strategy
As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has some accepted misconceptions. One of which is similar to a misconception in roulette. The past isn’t a harbinger of events yet to happen. Tracking previous results at a table is a waste of paper and an affront to the tree that surrendered its life for our paper needs.
The most familiar and definitely the most accomplished plan is the one, three, two, six method. This tactic is employed to pump up earnings and minimizing risk.
Begin by betting 1 dollar. If you succeed, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of three dollars on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you are left with 2 on the 3rd wager. Should you succeed on the 3rd wager, deposit 2 on the 4 on the game table for a sum total of six on the fourth round.
If you lose on the first round, you take a hit of one. A profit on the first wager followed by a loss on the second causes a hit of 2. Wins on the initial two with a loss on the 3rd provides you with a gain of two. And success on the 1st 3 with a hit on the 4th means you are even. Winning at all four wagers leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. This means you will be able to squander the 2nd round 5 instances for each favorable run of four rounds and still experience no loss.
