Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are of a value less than 10 are said to be worth face value whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they just appear as the two hands to be played).

Two hands of two cards shall then be given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for every hand will be the sum of the two cards, but the very first digit is dumped. For e.g., a hand of 7 … five will have a total of 2 (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A third card may be played depending on the foll. regulations:

- If the bettor or banker has a value of eight or 9, then both players stand.

- If the player has five or lower, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used in order to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores is the winner. Winning wagers on the banker payout nineteen to twenty (even money minus a five % commission. Commission is tracked and moved out when you leave the table so ensure you have dollars still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie as a rule pay 8 to one but on occasion 9 to 1. (This is an awful wager as ties occur less than one every ten hands. Run away from putting money on a tie. Regardless odds are significantly better – 9 to 1 vs. 8 to 1)

When played smartly, baccarat provides relatively decent odds, away from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. One of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future outcomes.
