Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under ten are said to be worth face value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they merely depict the two hands to be given out).

Two hands of 2 cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for each hand will be the total of the two cards, but the first digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of 7 and 5 results in a total of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card might be played depending on the foll. protocols:

- If the player or banker has a score of 8 or nine, then both bettors stand.

- If the gambler has five or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning stakes on the banker pay out nineteen to twenty (even odds less a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so make sure to have dollars left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie usually pays out at 8 to 1 and occasionally 9 to one. (This is a bad gamble as ties happen lower than 1 every 10 hands. Avoid betting on a tie. Nonetheless odds are substantially better – nine to one vs. 8 to 1)

Played properly, baccarat provides relatively good odds, away from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with most games, Baccarat has some common false impressions. 1 of which is quite similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way a predictor of future outcomes. Staying abreast of old outcomes on a chart is simply a total waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most established and almost certainly most successful technique is the one-three-two-six concept. This plan is used to build up profits and reducing risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away four so you have two on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th bet.

If you lose on the first wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Thus you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
