Punto Banco Practices and Strategy
Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat chemin de fer is wagered on with eight decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are valued at face value and with Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not actual people; they simply represent the two hands that are dealt).
Two cards are dealt to both the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The score for every hand is the sum of the 2 cards, however the first digit is dumped. e.g., a hand of five and six has a total of one (5 plus 6 equals 11; drop the initial ‘1′).
A 3rd card may be given using the following rules:
- If the gambler or banker achieves a total of 8 or nine, both players hold.
- If the gambler has less than five, she takes a card. Players holds otherwise.
- If the player stands, the house takes a card on a total lower than five. If the gambler hits, a table is used to figure out if the house holds or hits.
Punto Banco Odds
The greater of the 2 hands wins. Winning bets on the house pay out nineteen to Twenty (equal money minus a 5% commission. The Rake is tracked and paid off when you leave the table so make sure you have cash remaining before you depart). Winning wagers on the player pays one to one. Winning bets for a tie usually pay eight to one but occasionally nine to one. (This is a poor bet as ties occur less than one in every 10 rounds. Be wary of wagering on a tie. Although odds are substantially greater for nine to one vs. 8 to 1)
Gambled on properly baccarat offers relatively decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Method
As with all games punto banco has a handful of familiar misunderstandings. One of which is close to a misconception in roulette. The past is not a fore-teller of future outcomes. Keeping score of past results at a table is a bad use of paper and a snub to the tree that was cut down for our stationary desires.
The most established and possibly the most accomplished method is the 1-3-2-6 tactic. This plan is deployed to pump up winnings and limit losses.
Begin by wagering one chip. If you succeed, add 1 more to the two on the game table for a sum total of three units on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the game table, remove 4 so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you come away with a win on the third round, deposit 2 to the 4 on the game table for a grand total of six on the 4th wager.
If you lose on the initial wager, you take a hit of one. A win on the 1st round followed by a loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Success on the first two with a defeat on the 3rd provides you with a gain of 2. And success on the initial three with a defeat on the fourth means you experience no loss. Winning at all four bets gives you with twelve, a profit of ten. This means you will be able to not win on the second wager 5 times for each favorable streak of four bets and still experience no loss.
