Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards than are of a value less than 10 are give a value of their printed number while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they strictly depict the 2 hands to be played).

2 hands of two cards will now be dealt to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for any hand is the grand total of the two cards, but the first digit is dropped. For eg, a hand of seven and five will have a total of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A third card may be given out depending on the foll. protocols:

- If the gambler or banker has a tally of eight or nine, each gamblers stand.

- If the player has five or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart shall be used to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores wins. Winning wagers on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even odds less a five percent commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure that you have cash left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie generally pay out eight to one but sometimes 9 to one. (This is a crazy bet as ties will occur less than 1 every ten hands. Stay away from wagering on a tie. Still, odds are generously better – nine to 1 versus 8 to one)

When done properly, baccarat presents pretty good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with every games, Baccarat has some common misunderstandings. One of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way a predictor of future results. Tracking of prior conclusions on a chart is a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most common and almost certainly most successful method is the one-three-two-6 concept. This process is deployed to accentuate payout and reducing risk.

Begin by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd gamble, add two to the four on the table for a value of six on the fourth gamble.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Winning all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Therefore you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
