Baccarat Protocols
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under ten are said to be at their printed number while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they just portray the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards will then be played to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for any hand is the total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is dumped. For eg, a hand of 7 as well as five gives a total of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card can be given depending on the foll. rules:
- If the gambler or banker has a tally of 8 or 9, the two bettors stand.
- If the bettor has five or lower, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart might be used to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores will be the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even odds minus a 5 percent commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have dollars still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie commonly pays 8 to one but occasionally 9 to one. (This is not a good gamble as ties occur less than one every 10 hands. Avoid wagering on a tie. Nevertheless odds are somewhat better – 9 to 1 vs. eight to one)
When done correctly, baccarat provides fairly decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Tactics
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some common myths. One of which is close to a misconception of roulette. The past is not an actual indicator of future actions. Tracking of previous conclusions on a chart is a total waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most accepted and probably most successful technique is the 1-3-two-6 technique. This tactic is employed to magnify payout and reducing risk.
commence by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove 4 so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the third gamble, add two to the four on the table for a grand total of 6 on the 4th wager.
If you don’t win on the initial wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. A win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. In other words that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
