Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards than are of a value less than 10 are of face value whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they purely represent the two hands to be given out).

Two hands of 2 cards shall then be played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for any hand will be the total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is dropped. For example, a hand of seven … 5 will have a total score of two (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card can be given depending on the following protocols:

- If the bettor or banker has a value of 8 or 9, each players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart is used in order to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores wins. Successful bets on the banker pay nineteen to 20 (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so ensure you have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie by and large pay 8 to 1 and on occasion nine to 1. (This is a bad wager as ties will occur lower than 1 every 10 hands. Stay away from laying money on a tie. Still, odds are radically better – nine to one vs. 8 to one)

When played correctly, baccarat provides pretty decent odds, away from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about every games, Baccarat has some established myths. 1 of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an indicator of future events. Tracking of prior outcomes on a chart is a complete waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most common and possibly most successful technique is the one-3-two-six method. This scheme is deployed to accentuate wins and limiting risk.

start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove 4 so you have 2 on the third bet. If you win the third gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth wager.

If you lose on the first wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Winning all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. In other words you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
